Please support the Ninth Annual NYJL Spring Live Auction on April 11 at 8:00 p.m. at Capitale (130 Bowery). This special evening, one of the NYJL's largest fundraisers, includes a live and a silent auction and cocktail
reception. The annual NYJL Spring Auction generates vital funding for critical NYJL community service projects, including one of our signature projects, the Playground Improvement Project. For tickets and more information, please

Over 5 weekends in April/May and 1 weekend in the fall, the NYJL will renovate the JJ Walker Park and the Tony Dapolito Community Center in Greenwich Village.
The Center houses the second largest Parks Department Summer Camp, after-school and weekend programs for children and seniors as well as affordable access to recreation programs. Unfortunately, sections of the Community Center close during inclement weather due to leaks in the roof which is in dire need of repair and renovation. The NYJL will fund the roof repair and paint numerous areas of the Center, including several murals.
In the Park, volunteers will transform a currently neglected, overgrown space into a quiet garden oasis. Volunteers will plant trees as part of Mayor Bloomberg's Plant a Million Trees initiative.
Our contribution for restoring this historic park will exceed an estimated 12,500 volunteer hours and valued at $385,000 which includes a cash commitment of approximately $65,000.
The New York Junior League - Our Mission is Volunteerism
For 106 years, the NYJL has been a positive force for change in New York City. The NYJL's 3,000 trained volunteers donate their time to more than 60 committees to support the community needs of New York City as well as the institutional needs of the organization. Our volunteers improve the lives of women and children in Manhattan through 33 community-based projects. Our programs address some of New York City's most critical issues: domestic violence awareness and prevention, health education to the underinsured community, life skills for families in transition, and cultural enrichment for children.
